Replacement Key

I have had to order a new key from my local main dealer. I reviewed previous posts on this topic, tried Timpsons, who many said could program the chip in the key for me, but neither they nor another locksmith in our town could do so. Apparently the chip in my car has a rolling code sequence which changes every time I use the key and only Jaguar can deal with this.

Can anyone advise on how the new key is programmed to work on my car. Dealer reckons it is half an hour to do and will charge accordingly. Previous dealer told me 30mins to program the key fob and wanted to charge £60 +VAT. As we know, it takes seconds once you have found the sequence on the internet!!

Does it take main dealer to program the key or can I do it?

had to go with the dealer option!! £45.00 to program the key
