Key Fob, Security etc

I have a blank integral key and fob for what I believe is an S type.
Can it be made to work with an XJ8 which uses a seperate key and transmitter fob.

I have noticed a difference in that the key blades are a different length but on the integral one it is held in with a grub screw so can be changed.

Any help appreciated
