Hey guys,

Anyone know of a fix for this? my headlining is sagging over driver & passanger seat.
Ive got a xj8 sport 3.2 1998.

I have the issue is there a replacement or is it second hand

four ways to fix this, none are easy

1 , locate a good seconhand one, rare and difficult to transport remember this size of it

2. new from Jaguar, if you can source one, again collection is an issue, they come in HUGE box as protection, the last two bought I had to use a Mecedes Vito van to collect them. Looking at Jaguar Classic Parts, there are many,many variations of 300 headliners as you would expect, but just TWO seem to be available now at well over £400 plus vat

3, a new one from these guys, who deliver, so this looks like a good option, although I have not done one, or seen one fitted

4, remove the old one carefully, recover and refit, again not easy to get the job right, I have seen a few done, most badly, but one local JEC member in Edinburgh has done a number of them now and the have all looked spot on



fitting is straightforward but tricky, there are lost and lots of suggested methods, I go in and out through the passenger front door, you will need to remove passenger door trims, seats, centre console, sunvisors, mirror, plus all the trim and clips around the A B and C posts, these clips WILL break, so buy new ones before you commence

A Jaguar Liner is on a fibre "biscuit" and will crack as you bend it to get in in unless you are very careful, the Myrtle product is on a fibre glass biscuit and will flex on entry and spring back into shape

Time, last one I did involved stripping our a spares car, stripping out my car and re-assembly of my car with the used liner, total 6 hours, but I knew where everything was and how it all came apart

Hi, I have a business in Stoke on Trent called Potteries Jaguar Spares. I do used jag spares and i have one available from a 1994 XJR which does flex and flex back again as i was surprised when i took it out. Lol. I have recently ordered and fitted one from the website Rob put on his post, the headlining itself was very good, but we could only get it in by removing passenger door completely, it is not an easy DIY job. Looks good though...
