hi mate
no pics yet im waiting for better weather so i can clean and polish and take a few pics for gallery.
only pic i got on gallery is when i had my steering wheel respayed.
best place to get bulbs is ebay do a search for (blue 501 bulb)
then ask seller for best price on multiple items you will need
14 bulbs to replace all
this includes the two in boot

Chris, you mention 14? I have not looked yet but from memory I can think of the 2 map lights and main light in the overhead console, possibly 1 in the glove box and then the 2 rear reading lights - add in the 2 for the boot and that's about it ? the only other ones I can think of are the door open lamps in the doors, but my car has red covers over them? are the lamps are the same 501's used in the sidelights? and what about the LED versions - anybody tried them?

Sorry for the questions but I want to make sure I order the right stuff and know roughly where to put them 8)

hi mate
the covers on doors are clear undeneath so blue shines on ground when door is open

i have used led bulbs in my jeep much more dramatic effect and always gets noticed when picking freinds up
yes bulbs are the same as sidelight bulbs
led should work in jag as well but some cars flag up bulb gone on dash
if you go for led and they work ok let me know
i will prob treat my self

that is after i get over the shock of needing a new battery as cold weather killed mine!!!

I've made a pdf on how to replace the roof console bulbs, I'll see if I can work out how to post it later - meanwhile I have discovered that the bulbs in my vanity mirrors are those long fuse type ones (not 501's) but as I don't use them anyway that's not a problem - but Liam could I ask what you used to remove the rear interior lamp from the trim? I am finding it quite difficult to get at and don't want to damage anything- on that subject, does anybody know the easiest way to remove the rear headrests? I'll replace the other lamps this afternoon and get (hopefully) pictures tonight.

Liam i had to replace a whole lamp as the two lugs that hold the "lens" inplace are only made from fragile plastic......you have to buy the whole lamp too.............did you use the blue capless bulbs from Phillips extreme that glow white............??????

The Blue ones I used are not as bright as the Phillips ones (I have those in my sidelights) I thought they would be too bright and would not give the desired Blue "glow" I did not get the LED's as they were all a bit expensive but I think I will probably change over as they will get cheaper in time.

The result is a lot less light inside the car, however I like that as the Blue light seems to have an ambience about it.

I'll get a few pictures tomorrow hopefully - I did go up to a local industrial estate (its darker up there) to get some pictures but took the wrong camera, (my little compact is not up to the job - I'll have to bring the DSLR) and also attracted the attention of the local police who wanted to know what I was up to

let me know what they look like - I like the blue light but I think it is a little bit too dark (especially in the door lights)

I think the capless Phillips sidelight (blue) bulbs dont shine blue in the sidelights.
The interior LED lights are a different thing altogether i would imagine....

yes I have the Phillips ones in my sidelights, and they look blue unlit but glow white. the Blue ones I have inside the car look almost the same colour as the sidelight ones but do glow Blue (so it would be easy to confuse them)

I would imagine as you say Joe that the LED's would be different (brighter) but I have had LED lamps in the past that were not as bright as the ones they were supposed to replace 8)
