Grotty, slow driver's seatbelt

The belt on my side of the car is looking dirty and rather unkempt and it only reels back in with manual help.

Should I get a new belt or is it possible to refurbish it myself?

Try pulling it all the way out, holding it with a clip of some sort, and give it a good scrub on both side with soapy water and a fairly stiff brush. Leave it pulled out until it’s dry and you’ll probably find it will retract properly.

Hand washing powder is good for this, as stated rub it in and then use old dry towel to repeatedly dab it to get as much dirt off as possible.

Hi - I had a similar issue on my XKR. Giving the belt a good wash (I used washing up liquid) made it both look much better and restored its flexibility. I also gave the belt a squirt of silicone spray and it now looks good and retracts easily.
