Car Audio Bluetooth Adapter

Has anyone tried this type of item - Car Audio Bluetooth Cassette to Aux Receiver, Tape Desk Bluetooth 5.0 auxilary Adapter? I purchased one recently and although it appeared to work well on my Apple phone, when I tried it, there was a lack of volume and I could hardly hear the caller, although the caller could hear me well. If you have tried one of these type of items and it has worked for you, what make was the one you obtained?
