Pollen filter

Postby Don68500 » Sun Apr 06, 2008 5:41 pm

Can anybody help!
Is there a pollen filter fitted in the air con system of my 1999 4.0 Sovereign XJ8?
If so where is it, and how often should it be changed? :?

here we go again, lol

first of all, it was a dealership option,

secondly, very few peeps knew about it being an option, and so didnt order it unless they really suffered from hay-fever

the filters are actually four filters mounted in the air intake ducts under the windscreen wiper scuttle, if there they can be easily seen without removing the cover, if not, all you will see are some oval holes, two of which have a black plastic vent

now for the bad news

as they were not often specified, jaguar stopped making them many years ago, and no one else makes them to date , and they are NLA......

i'm after a set myself

and before you think you can ' adapt ' some other ones, it cant be done, that and the aircon needs to be flashed to tell it there is restricted airflow...
