hi i have a 1999 xj8 4 ltr sport fantastic car .i am looking to buy a set of tyres ?at the moment i have pireli 6000 on i find these very noisey and i would like know if any member could suggest a set that is cheaper/quieter . i dont travel at great speed so do i still need x/y/z rated tyers thanks for your help 4560max

Try the club deal with Vredistein quite a few have gone down that road and not any complaints so far........allegedly good tyres?.....any comments anyone with them?.........Joe

Just give the club offices in Bristol a ring and they should put you on the right track..........i thought it was an item in the magazine somewhere too

hi joe tried the club in bristol did not know about the deal on tyres gave me some numbers to try no joy told to go on the vredesteiwn tyer webb site tried that and could not find any tyer in my wheel size 235/50/17/96y .so as mine were getting very low and needed changing i have now bought a complete set of four pirelli 6000s thanks for your help in this matter 4560 max

Max sorry you could not get any joy re the Vredestien tyres but evidently the powers that be are in the USA on holiday.
Looking through the "wheels Tyres" section of this forum i find under "quiet tyres" an answer to this particular problem and had forgetten it.......its obviously too late now but maybe for future reference you never know.......i have the same size tyres as yours and i bought a set of Pirelli
Semetrico tyres brand new from a guy at Stoneliegh Spares Day for £400.
I havnt fit them yet so cant report on progress.......Joe
