I don't know about everyone else but I am heartily sick of Pirelli tyres! My car (4litre, hence sport suspension as standard) came with the factory fitted P6000s, which I found to be Ok in the dry but they would "let go" without warning on bendy country roads in heavy rain.
I changed to PZeros (factory recommended tyre for the XJR) and have run with these for about the last four years. The grip is brilliant but the NOISE gets unbearable once they have a few miles under their belt.
I have 17" Celtic wheels and I find that particular size limits the choice of manufacturers and tyre patterns. I have I've been searching all the tyre review websites, but, as could be expected, for every good review of one make there are just as many that trash it.
I am now considering Dunlop SP2000s for their supposed low noise and would be glad to hear of other owners views and experience.
QUIET tyres - your views please

tyre options
BRIAN the club have a scheme with Vredestein tyres, at competitive prices with good write ups ........worth a look.......Joe
I have a new set of Pirelli Isometrico tyres to go on when these original P6000 wear out.........i have no reports of these Isometricos or their performance as yet..........I always found the Dunlop SP tyres to be first class on my XJ40 though ........Joe

as another option
Just remembered at the 308 seminar one of the bods Pipes i think it was mentioned when asked the reason Jaguar use and recommend Pirelli.
Its because they get them and the wheels almost for free.
The reason being next time you want some tyres you will automatically take Jaguars recommendation and fit Pirelli.
When asked which tyre he uses on his XJR he said he always uses the" F1"
Bridgestone..........but that was his choice.
the old saying that comes to mind "yer pays yer money yer takes yer choice im afraid...........Joe
