Rear Wheel bearing

The rear Wheel bearings on my 1999 XJ8 have a small amount of play, this will need sorting before the next MOT, can this be fixed by re-tightening the nut? Or is it new bearings?

I dont know if the rear bearings are tapered.........send an e-mail to David Marks on this one.
