hi all
i have to replace my n/s/f abs sensor + harness.is it wise to fit a used part.
i also have to replace the n/s/f shock absorber lower bush. to do this would i need to compress the spring in any way.
i also have to replace the anti roll bar links told this was a dtype link ?
/i am hoping to do this work myself.
any info on replacing these parts and where to get them would be very helpfull.

all of this work is fairly easy to do at home by a competent person , and i have done all these jobs myself ( but not sure if my competency , lol )

yes, the anti roll bar bush is a wrap around D type bush , and is the easiest of the jobs , the ant roll bar links are just that, a short rod with a bush at each end, and are a simple spannering job , ensure both front wheels are the same height, as the tension on the bar will make it hard to remove the link and could cause injury if not equally supported or not supported, but they need to be the same.........

the lower shock bush is harder in that you have to undo and remove components and brackets from the car to gain access etc ,

the ABS sensor may be the trickiest to complete, in that they can stick in the threads, and if you round of the bolt its near impossible without cutting it out, so get a snug fitting good quality spanner/socket set and soak it in ' plus gas ' penetrating oil before attempting any work, this can be got from RS Components , or you can use WD40 , but its no where near as good

will be doing the work when the weather gets better.
i purchased a used sensor from eurojag for £20. also got a used cd changer for £30.
the d bushes + shocker bush got from david manners.

i have just fitted 2x front d type anti roll bar bushes. this job was easy to do. my independant dealer wanted £60+vat. i did it myself.
i also replaced the nsf lower shock absorber bush this to was quite easy to do. dealer wanted £80.00+ vat. i did it myself.
i also replaced the nsf abs sensor. this was the easiest of all. except after soaking the 8mm bolt with wd40 and leaving it for a while i attempted to undo the bolt and it snapped on me. luckily for me access was very good, and i managed to drill through the snapped bolt. having done that i was able to cut a new thread using a tap.the abs sensor was then fitted with the new retaining bolt.
when i started the car the abs/asc/+no traction lights were still on.
do i need to disconect the battery for twenty minutes to get the warning lights off. i was told this resets the system any ideas?
the above jobs took me approx 3hrs.
