gearbox + suspension + faulty part faults

Myself and my son changed the lower ball joint on my 1998 xj8. When I went to start it after changing the ball joint the engine wouldn't start and on the dash it was cycling true gearbox fault suspicion fault and a faulty part coming up on the dashboard. I don,t no where to start looking to try and fix the problem iv checked the fuses i don't no where to start next the car was running before we changed the balljoint.

first of all , don't panic

i bet you left the boot or a door open , ( or even the radio on ) while working

these are typical signs of a flat battery

if the battery is anything over six years old, invest in a new one

as these car DO NOT LIKE batteries that are starting to fail , and the electronics are very sensitive to low voltage

putting in a new battery will solve your problem i think

but don't lock the boot , and find your radio code before disconnecting anything
