multiple fault codes
hello again. well i called someone to come and read the codes however he was unable to get any reading as he says no power to the ecm checked all the fuses i could find but all were ok both in the boot and under the bonnet anywhere else i should look? btw the following items work, lights ,windows, central locking ,wipers, power seats, horn and with the key removed from the ignition and the car locked the dash still scrolls through the warning messages and the warning lights remain on until i disconnect the battery. any thoughts?
Re: multiple fault codes
David,
There clearly seems to be power going to the ecu if you're getting warning messages etc displayed and cleared after battery disconnect. However, there may be other problems on power output from ecu, particularly if the obdii port is not being enabled.
Do you know if the obdii port was definitely working before the problems? What equipment did your colleague use? Is he able to verify the power output and earth connections of the obdii port? (It can be easier on ax308 to move it up from the metal bracket to get some flex on the cables. However, be careful as it is very easy on an x308 for the wires to the port to chafe on the metal dash bracket support. I know this!)
I would suggest that you go direct to the ecu and ensure there is power output and earth integrity on all the relevant pins. Check the wiring diagram to know which pins you're checking.
Good luck
Paul
