Replacement Battery
Is the JLR battery C2D22312 worth getting, it's about £30.00 more than a Varta silver but I've read somewhere that OE batteries are built to a higher spec so should last longer, any advice appreciated.
Re: Replacement Battery
Hello Tattyhead,
Battery tech has progressed since our cars were produced some 20 years ago.
I'm led to believe that Jaguar factory batteries are or were Varta anyway.
A lot of X308 owners use the 100Ah and 850A battery.
Personally I’d get the best quality, best brand and biggest capacity you can get for the car.
I believe that Bosch and Lucas batteries are made by Varta.
Hope that helps a bit.
Take Care.
Andy

Re: Replacement Battery
Have just sprung for a Yuasa Silver 5000 100AHC 900CCA --
Halfords were doing them same as their own brand price (as their own were sold out at that branch) Broke habit of a lifetime as previously always had Bosch.
Have just replaced a Varta Blue with same spec that was July 2014 date-stamped. On test its 900CCA was shown as down to 640CCA. I gave it a full charge when back but the terminal volts drop down to 12.05V on load whereas the new Yuasa only drops down to 12.4V
Still there's always some neighbour that thinks that they'll get thru winter with their dying battery...
It'll come in useful
BTW, my XJ8 Exec had an OEM dealer-supplied battery in it bought by previous owner that I had checked fortnight back just prior to sale. It came up as 12.52V under load showing 764CCA out of it's rated 800CCA. I know that it's at least three years old. No invoice found in the docs though to prove exact purchase date. FWIW

Re: Replacement Battery
Thank you both for your replies. I sprung for a Varta 100Ah.
