X308 Sovereign dash lighting

Hi, I have a 2000 4.o V8 Sovereign. there are numerous buttons on the steering wheel and dash that never light up. For example, the cruise control on the steering wheel is pitch black at night so it's quite unsafe to try to use it because i can't see it! Similarly the heater vents have rotary controls which don't light. On my X350, all of the aforementioned are nicely illuminated at night when side/headlights are on.

Am I to believe that the X308 doesn't have these switches illuminated for night driving or is there an electrical problem? Any advice gratefully received.

Hello MrV8.
The steering wheel switches do not light up,neither do any of the vent controls on the X308.
A bit annoying I know but that's how it is on these cars I'm afraid.
