Re: front passenger door locked
Couple of questions first:
Is this the first time this has happened, or has it become worse to the point of not working altogether?
When you try to unlock the car, does the pass side chrome button move up at all?
Have you got drive away locking enabled?
Things to try:
Sit in the car and with all doors, bonnet and boot shut, press the locking button on the dash panel, now try unlocking with the same button
Try dead locking the car with the remote, then unlock also with remote
If you have the radio code and you don't mind losing trip mileages and seat memory if fitted, disconnect the battery, touch both terminal connectors momentarily together to discharge any capacitive circuits. Leave disconnected for a few mins and then reconnect 'cleanly' ie, without dithering as you put the connector on. Then try locking/unlocking.
After that it's going to be a lot more involved.

Re: front passenger door locked
thanks for reply.
1)Just didnt work one day was fine before,
2) no the chrome button doesnt come up.
the remote and deadlock release everything else except passenger door.
will try your other suggestions next time i'm at the garage, how easy is it to remove the door trim with the door shut?
thanks again.

Re: front passenger door locked
I've not tried removing the trim with the door shut but have removed them with the door fully open. The trim at the front end is right against the dash, so that will make it awkward. From memory you need to remove the escutcheon around the door handle - that shouldn't be too bad. There is a screw hidden by a black cap. Then there is a large screw under the armrest - again should be ok. Then the trim has to be pulled off the clips at the rear and lower edges - that might be difficult with the pass seat in the way and you may have to sacrifice a clip or two. Can't remember if the puddle lamp cover has to be removed - I think it might and there might be a screw holding the lamp body through the panel into the door. If you succeed that far, then the panel lifts upwards and away but the speaker, puddle lamp and window wiring connectors need to be separated.
Not much comfort I'm afraid,

Re: front passenger door locked
Morning David,
I was pondering over this problem again this morning and as it may affect any of us at any time, I looked for a more simple solution.
Here's what I did on my Daimler pass door:
I carefully inspected the chrome ring around the button with the door locked and the window fully down. The ring is just a tad larger in internal diameter than the button, and has a stop near the lower end to prevent me from pushing a wire down to hook the button up, even with a very fine piece of piano wire.
HOWEVER! each ring has a tiny cut out, not necessarily orientated the same way on each door, but still no access to hook the button. Using a sharp engineers scriber in this cutout, pushed into the side of the button I was able to lever the button up slightly and grab the button with a pair of fine pointed pliers to pull it up. I taped over the jaws of the pliers to prevent damage. Simples!
Hope you get a result.
Forgot to add that if you can gain access using this method, then with the door open, trim removal is much easier to gain access to the offending mechanism for lubrication/repair/replacement. Remember to put the window back up before disconnecting the harness plugs otherwise it will obscure the mech.

Re: front passenger door locked
ok so sacrificed three panel clips but the panel came off. I can open the door by moving the plastic cover and popping the actual mechanism open with a long flathead screwdriver but wont open using any of the manual actuators so Eurojags it is for a new lock, thanks for your help Orkney.
Re: front passenger door locked
Hi David,
Thanks for the update and glad you managed to gain access. Not sure if my updated method came too late for you to try but I have now tried it on all doors for possible future use, with success each time. I'm sure the chaps at Eurojag will come up with the goods (clips too if possible) I've been dealing with them since they were Classic Components in the late 80's/early 90's and have always found that they go the extra mile.
