heated seats are fitted to the front of my xj8se. when switching them on the switches light up
to tell me they are switched on. however both the front seats doesnot get warm.i have checked the fuse all is well. do they have a relay for the heated seats? if so where are they located?
ps help guys as my wife needs it to be working for the winter.

I'm not sure how the Jag's seats work but I thought that the heated seats in our Rover 75 did not work until I discovered you have to be sitting ON them before they start heating up (there is a pressure switch in the seat) Have you made sure that they are both definitely not working? It took about 2 minutes for the heat to work in the Rover - Just a thought?

there is a pressure switch for each seat , and even though the switch light may be on , the seat not warm until they are sat in ,
also
there is a thermal overload for each seat within the elements wiring, you will need to check continuity for each element, one in each base, and one in each setback
the elements are relay controlled via the switch and a separate fuse for the element, it will all need checking
