Heater pump. I read on the list about running above 2000rpm and right on heat!!! so with the costs involved I took the step of removal, clean, replace and it works, bushes and motor were rather gummed up so with cleaner and rag i set to work. I guess iwill have to replace the bushes soon, anyone know a near compatable set?. thanks very much.

There are no spare brushes available, you will have to make your own. I made a set for mine by purchasing a suitable oversize pair from a washing machine spares shop. You need to buy the type with embedded braided wires. These were then carefully cut in half with a sharp knife and then gently filed to size, finally finishing with some fine emery paper (400 grade I seem to remember).

You need to unsolder the wires of the old brushes from the brass carriers then bend the retainer tag GENTLY out of the way to get the old brush out (if there's any left!) and be able to get the new one in. Don't make them too long - give the spring some room to move - and don't make them too tight a fit or they will stick when they wear down a bit, giving you a non-functioning motor all over again. Whne you are happy with the fit bend the brass tag bag again so the brush can't fall out, then solder the neew wire in place. Job done.
