XJR Water leak / Removing Super charger

Postby geoffhanks69 » Mon Jan 28, 2013 4:17 pm

Hi All

I little while ago i purchased a xjr V8, and it has developed a slight leak.
It looks as if the leak is coming from the underside of the super charger, and running down between the back of the 2 heads!! I have purchased a technical manual for the car on a CD, but it doesnt give me an idea of where it might be leaking from. Are there any hoses that run between the 2 heads, under the super charger. Hope someone can help.

I have bought myself an inspection camera, but cant really see anymore.
Does any 1 know how easy it is to remove the supercharger!!!! This way i might be able to see where the water is coming from.

Cheers all for taking the time to read this.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Geoff

there is a coolant pipe under the s/c, this can begin to leak with old age

getting at it is a bit of a pain, David Marks recently showed us this job being done a 350 s/c, essentailly the same thing

he reckoned allow 12 hours in total do get the job done

give him a call for advice http://www.davidmarksgarages.co.uk/

hope this helps
