XJ8 For Sale

Does anyone recognize this Jaguar XJ8. It's no secret that I have been searching for my first Jaguar and the 308 XJ8 is the car of my choice.
I have found one in St Albans and before I consider coming over to look at this car something interesting has been thrown up. The car is a 1998 3.2L XJ8, first registered 24/06/1998 with the mileage being 68,500 The car is listed on Ebay as having been owned by the JEC. I just wondered if anyone from the club can verify this or if any member recognized the car (picture enclosed).

there is a feature on all the past raffle cars in the current magazine, page 68/72, this car is not listed and rings no bells to me, anyone else??

I get the impression the way that the listing is written that the vendor is saying the car was owned and run by JEC head office.

I emailed the vendor and asked about proof of timing chain tensioner replacement and also what evidence there was to indicate JEC ownership.

The vendor has said that he will check the bills for tensioner replacement. (If they haven't been done, you should price that + water pump + thermostat in to your bid)

He said there is a JEC windscreen sticker. So, I think it just means that there has been a JEC member as a previous owner. I don't think there is any likelihood that the club itself has owned it. Certainly not in the last 9 years. And the car isn't listed in the membership details of current members.

Hi Paul,
thanks for that, but I can't get over this month. We're coming to Kent in mid July to get married so I'll keep my eye open and see if there is anything going on there at the time. I have made a member an offer for his though, and I'll see if that brings anything. We move back to Doncaster in October to our new house and when I was over last month I went to see a new Jaguar Specialist who has opened in Armthorpe (in fact he is addressing the yorkshire region) and he will also help me in my search for an XJ8 4L and he will look after anything I buy.
