Members are noticing that the prices of Jaguars including X308 cars are dropping like the proverbial stone, and there are lots of cars out there for sale at very attractive prices.
These are complex machines and many are not looked after as well as they should be,so any purchase can be an exercise with dire risk to the wallet !
The safest way to find a good one(and there are some cracking cars out there) is to arrange for a JEC Inspector to check it out for you.
JEC Inspectors will provide an independant written mechanical and price assessment on your prospective purchase so an objective decision can be made.
If a seller has something to hide, they will usually make an excuse and not allow an Inspector to visit.
In that case a potential buyer can walk away without spending time or money.
An inspection can be usually be arranged by contacting the Club office in Bristol.
Anyone interested in this service see "Vehicle Inspections" in the Member Benefits/Advice section of the website Homepage.
Pre Purchase Inspections
Yes......A JEC Inspector is acting for the purchaser...no-one else.
Sorry for the ambiguity I have amended the "sticky".
However a private purchase clearly carries the greatest risk..... because of the lack of any "comeback",but private sales are where the real bargains are to be had.........if a buyer is careful.
