What has happened to X308 Forum?

No articles in last 2 issues of JEC magazine. Is there a problem?

the XJ8 forum has been replaced by the ' article ' on the XJ8 in the last two issues, this month its a supercharged V8 gearbox oil change, though informative, not exactly ' club/forum ' orientated.....

personally i am a little disappointed , as the other forums ( XJS , XK and even X-Type) seem to have much more input from the forum administrators....

I agree, most disappointing. Did I miss this change being announced?

missing forum

Postby joejag308 » Thu Feb 28, 2008 10:23 am

After my enquiries re the missing forum the explanation given was they needed space for the auto gearbox article and seeing as it was part of the 308 mandate that's why the missing forum happened.
After receiving this months JEC magazine i find the same thing has happened, so i automatically assume its for the same reasons i was given.
Re the assumption that the administrators are not supplying enough input for the magazine articles im assured this is not the case as input is offered every month or when needed.
We try to dig up information with enough content to make articles good enough for an article to enter into the magazine but......the input from forum members is not forthcoming at all so threads run dry.......once again if anyone has any information re the 308 or any personal experiences with the model i would love to hear from you and to see if we can make enough content for articles to be in the JEC mag.
How many people with supercharged 308s knew about the Mercedes W5A 580 gearbox in the 308s........for those with supercharged vehicles it must be nice to know......no expensive servicing costs at least.
Basically the space taken up with the gearbox issues is related to the 308 models and to give Dave marks the space required to explain both types of gearboxes..........although my thoughts are it could have been headed as part of the 308 Forum .............i am at your mercy i hold up my hands.........Joe
