XJR Newbie advice please

To me even £12k is too much for that - at the end of the day it's still an 01 car despite the low mileage, I have seen XJR's at that age priced between £6k and £9k depending on condition but maybe that's just the frugal Scots blood that is somewhere in my family lineage

One little thing, it says the car has satnav, where is it? the console looks standard to me? unless its built into that tiny screen

anyway, it does look nice and I do like the colour scheme (but then I would)

It's built into the tiny screen. If you look to the left of the screen, there is a four-way switch which is different from the standard kit. I suspect it may not be a full colour system like the one we are used to these days!

ah right, thanks That will be one of the early ones then and as you say not up to the standard of today's units. Probably reasonably good in its time but that was 10 years ago so it would be unfair to compare them really.
