Postby Gary220262 » Sat Apr 07, 2012 10:25 pm

Hi There Everyone, Ive Just Returned To The fold Since Leaving In 2009 And Im Looking For A Bit Of Advice, Ive Got My Eye On A Nice 1999 3.2 Sport But Only Travel 4 miles To Work Each Day Half Through A Built Up Area And Half On A Sngle Track Country Lane AndIm Wondering If ThisIs Likely To Cause Me A Problem Regarding Charging/Operating Temperature etc, Im Sure I once Read Somewhere That A Modern Jaguar Has To Travel Somewhere Around 25 Miles Before The Oil Is Operating Correctly But I May Be Wrong,(According To Wife Im Always Wrong  ) Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated, Many Thanks. Gary

one small tip is always keep your battery trickle charged, local runs without a decent charge doesnt always keep the levels up, and have a mind to always lubricate the rear key lock on the boot lid .and check it wiorks...its no good having a flat battery when you cant access it.

wouldnt have thought 25 miles needed to warm car up ?what i do know is the v8s dont like starting up and running for a few minutes the turning off do tend to gas up quite easily? as long as car is up to normal temp there should be no problem just give it a good run once a week ( would agree on battery though, need to be kept topped up at all times )ie trickle charge when not in use even if only for a couple of days.HAPPY MOTORING steve,
