If anyone is interested, I have organised a 2 day 'get-together' for May 2018.
My plan is to stay at the Petwood Hotel (for those who have to travel a fair way) in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire LN10 6QG, commencing Sunday 27th May 2018. My plan is to stop 3 nights. Prices are bed and breakfast £110 pn (Double Room); £95 (Double Room - Sole Occupancy) and £75 (Single Room). When booking state you are with the ‘Jaguar Group’.
This is the hotel where the Dambusters (617) Squadron stayed during World War Two, so there is a lot of memorabilia to peruse during your stay.
On Bank Holiday Monday 28th May, we will attend the Lincs Tank and Military Vehicles Event at the Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre, East Kirkby, Spilsby, Lincolnshire PE23 4DE all day - £6.50 per person, paid by yourselves on the day. Exact arrival time to be confirmed.
On Tuesday 29th May, I have planned a 75 mile drive around Lincolnshire with 2 stops. We will leave the hotel at 11am and take a drive out to the Bateman Brewery, Mill Lane, Wainfleet All Saints, PE24 4JE. We should arrive about noon and get some refreshments – and I would advise just a light snack if you want to enjoy the second stop later on!
At 1pm we will book in for a tour of the brewery (£4.95 per person – payable by yourselves on the day) and the tour will commence at 1.30pm – as a group on our own. This should last about 45 minutes – BUT be aware, there are a lot of steps involved, due to the age and layout of the brewery.
After our brewery tour, it’s off for another short drive to our next stop, on the way to Louth - a lovely small tea room for a nice afternoon tea – the reason for not eating too much at the brewery!!
Here you can have a selection of homemade sandwiches/cakes/scones and limitless tea/coffee for £14.50 each (again paid by yourselves on the day) – but this would have to be pre-booked in advance, so let me know.
After stuffing ourselves silly, we will head back to Woodhall Spa, via Louth.
If evening meals are wanted at the hotel and you’d like to dine as a group, please let me know and I will enquire on costs – we might get a deal with your room rate.

Re: Bomber & Beer Bash May 2018
Just an update for everyone, with regards to the Bomber & Beer Bash in May.
I currently have 21 people potentially committed to this event and a majority have expressed an interest in having a evening meal each, as a group.
If you are interested (and have already booked a room), please contact the hotel direct and they will change your booking to dinner and b&b - this means you will get the 3 course evening meal for £30 per person (instead of £37.50 per person).
If you are interested, but haven't booked, please feel free to join in!
Please let me know:
1. If you have booked.
2. If you are having the evening meal each night.
3. How many persons.
4. If you are doing all the events or just certain parts.
I can then collect everyone's information, book the tables accordingly, and let you know the important bit - what time dinner is!
I will also be forwarding any updated information, as it arises - especially the time of the Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre.
The tea room section may change due to the fact they can only accommodate a maximum of 20 people - it will still be part of the package, but the afternoon tea will be at an alternative venue!
Kind Regards,
Steve.

Re: Bomber & Beer Bash May 2018
Another update for all interested parties:
On Sunday evening, I hope to meet everyone, at the Petwood Hotel, for an evening meal at 7.00pm. I will be explaining the events, planned over the Monday and Tuesday. I will also hand out the itinerary covering the routes being driven.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Bank Holiday Monday 28th May, we will attend the Lincs Tank and Military Vehicles Event at the Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre, East Kirkby, Spilsby, Lincolnshire PE23 4DE all day - £6.50 per person, paid by yourselves on the day. We should plan to leave the Petwood Hotel for 9.30am. This is an all-day event, but you are free to do as you wish and leave when you wish. Again, there is a planned evening meal, at 7.00pm, for those that have chosen to do so.
On Tuesday 29th May, I have planned a 75mile drive around Lincolnshire with 2 stops. We will leave the hotel at 11.30am and take a drive out to the Bateman Brewery, Mill Lane, Wainfleet All Saints, PE24 4JE. We should arrive between 12.30pm and 1.00pm (depending on the traffic) and get some refreshments – and I would advise just a light snack if you want to enjoy the second stop later on!
Because of the amount of interest, Bateman Brewery will have to split us all into 2 groups. Unfortunately this means:
The first group will have a 1.30pm tour (finishing at 2.15pm)
The second group will have a 2.00pm tour (finishing at 2.45pm)
(£4.95 per person – payable by yourselves on the day) – BUT please remember that there are a lot of steps involved, due to the age and layout of the brewery. I can only apologise for any problems this may create, but I’m sure we can socialise about all things Jaguar whilst waiting!
After our brewery tour, it’s off for another short drive to our next stop, at the Best Western Kenwick Park Hotel. This is another change to my original plan, due to the group being too large for the previous choice of venue – not that I’m complaining! We are still having a nice afternoon tea – the reason for not eating too much at the brewery!! This will be booked for 4.15pm.
Here you can have a choice of two menus at £12.95 each (again paid by yourselves on the day) – below is a link to their afternoon teas, which you can chose on the day.
https://www.kenwick-park.co.uk/Websites ... a_Menu.pdf
After refuelling ourselves, we can then take a leisurely drive back to the Petwood Hotel and rest up until our evening meal (for those that have chosen to do so) at 8pm.
I hope the above itinerary is acceptable to all participants and look forward to meeting you all on the relevant day.
One last point – as I have discrepancies between how many people have informed me that they are taking part/booked rooms and how many rooms have been booked according to the hotel – can all parties please reconfirm, to me, of what they have booked.
Thank you all for your interest so far.

Ok, here's the last update before the actual event - which is now fully booked up! Thank you to the 39 people that are participating (although not everyone is taking part in all the events).
On Sunday evening, I hope to meet everyone that has booked, at the Petwood Hotel, for an evening meal at 7.00pm. I will be explaining the events, planned over the Monday and Tuesday. I will also hand out the itinerary covering the routes being driven.
For those people who are just doing B&B (or joining us for individual days), please read the relevant paragraph(s) that apply to you.
*IMPORTANT: Anyone joining us for the Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre and/or the Bateman Brewery tour – to get the group rate (£6.50pp and £4.95pp), I will need to collect the payment beforehand (cash the night before or on the day, if you don’t mind) and then I can make one complete payment upon arrival at each event!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Bank Holiday Monday 28th May, we will attend the Lincs Tank and Military Vehicles Event at the Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre, East Kirkby, Spilsby, Lincolnshire PE23 4DE all day - £6.50* per person, paid by yourselves on the day. We should plan to leave the Petwood Hotel for 9.30am.
I would suggest that we congregrate at the Red Lion, Revesby PE22 7NU (who have kindly allowed us to use their car park), at approximately 9.45am so that we can all travel into the Aviation Centre together
This is an all-day event, but you are free to do as you wish and leave when you wish. Again, there is a planned evening meal, at 7.00pm, for those that have chosen to do so.

This means that Batemans will now take us round on 1 tour (instead of 2 split tours, as originally advised).
The group will have a 1.30pm tour, finishing at 2.15pm. I trust that the rest of the group will enjoy the refreshment facilities whilst the rest of us keep fit climbing them steps!!
