First X308 - and a LOUD Problem!

Hi Everyone - a newbie to the X308 forum but not new to the JEC. I have a 1961 3.4L Mark2 and 2003 XKR. I have also owned a number of series 2 XJ6 models, (my favourite whereas everyone else prefers the series 1 or series 3). Anyway, on to my 2001 XJ8 3.2 Sport . I purchased this last week as my annual mileage following a house move will now treble and I didn't want to pile miles on the XKR - or face the expense! So, although a XJ8 is not an economy car, I tried to explain to my wife once you have a Jaguar V8, it would be very hard to consider driving anything else! I am one week in to ownership and I love her! Nothing beats wafting along in a big Jaguar. A totally different experience to the XKR but just as special. I just took her through the 100k mile barrier on second day of ownership and she sounds silky smooth. There are a few things to fix (cracked wing mirror, radio aerial etc) but the most annoying feature she has is a DEAFENING beep about 30 seconds after start up which comes through the stereo and appears to be something to do with the phone function. There is no phone fitted. This is a seriously loud sound. I jump in my seat every time. I dread it (don't think I would have been much good in artillery)
Does anyone have any ideas how to cure this? It is the only thing currently spoiling my enjoyment of this great car. Have had a search through the Board here and googled it, but no luck so far. Any advice or thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks
