My 3rd Jag. First was a 1949 Mk5/2.5ltr back in 1960; 2nd was an 1988 X300. I bought my 1997 X308 when it was 2 years old and have run it for 9 years. It is in continual use and I hope to keep it running until my kids drive in it to my funeral! Lovely car- bergundy body/beige hide - a real head turner. It has done 81,000 miles with original Nikasil engine - starts immediately from cold. Had the chain tensioners replaced by our local Jaguar concessionaires - £1,000 - about the same price as in the UK. Apart from that, have replaced both front wheel bearings, front discs, wiper motor and window/mirror switch. All things considered - not bad for an 11 year old motor. Eats tyres though, but am hoping that a recent change to Michelins' will fare better. Had the LPG conversion installed last year in the UK . Delighted with it and no problems, apart from the paperwork with the French approval authorities .
