Yet another

After three XJ8s (a standard Exec, a Sport, and a 4 litre LWB) I went exploring in the classic world: XJ6 converted to that Owen Sedanca that was subject to three part feature in the mag (what a nightmare to restore it having been allowed to sink up to its axles in a garden in Woking) a Citroen DS23 BVH gearbox (there aren't any BVH gearbox parts to be had so beware!) a Volvo c40 early shape, now also with a Maserati QP5 (market's collapsed, terrible electrics) and an LPG Range Rover Vogue with the M62 BMW engine in it...

You'd think I'd learned my lesson after that lot but it is a sickness this classic car hobby. But apart from neighbours saying the Volvo was the best <groan!> I've gone and bought another XJ8 X308 -- they're the best mix of construction before Jaguar caught the cheapen bug IMO.
From an enthusiast up in Inverness whio was a member of JDC. OSF wheel bearing a bit noisy, and a coil goes down intermittently but apart from that -- still the same grand tourer the range always was

Hi... And glad to see you're still about.
It's an '02MY with the 3.2L normally aspirated -- but only 68k miles up. Where else would one find such?
Coz it's been subject of an Estate wrangle it just hasn't been used much. Leaving them standing about doesn't do much for them. Had the coil changed -- down to Tring -- some in here will remember Paul Hands' Hyper XJR workshop -- now taken over by Greg. He's still got a few tucked around the back, plus an XJR or three! Got my 4L LWB from there. All the way from Inverness... must be mad... There used to be a poem: "There was a young lady from Inverness, who... erm, can't remember the rest...

Oh, BTW is there any difficulty using iCarSoft 930 with an '02 second edition? The engine and gearbox comes up alright. But none of the rest do -- just says "check that this ECU is fitted..." or some such for all the rest. I've tried it IGN off, IGN on but engine not running. And engine running. Still the same effect. Greg's super diagnostic works with IGN off but it's the proper Jag interface.

Bests, Richard
