Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I was a member many years ago but lapsed when I sold my last jag.
I have recently purchased a 1998 XJR as a project. I relied heavily on the forums within the JEC website to make my purchase and am very pleased with the result.
My new Cat has some issues to be resolved but initially I am trying to collect as much information about her as possible.

I knoiw that the Timing Chains have been done but still believe she is running on the Nikosil lined engine, but this does not worry me as she has been serviced every year and flown through the MOT each year, so I believe this will not become an issue now.

Will keep everyone posted on progress - please advise where I should post my progress.

So just to let you know, I wrote to the previous owner who sent me a huge file of invoices and receipts. In the last 4 years he has spent over £11,000 on work on the car !!!

it drives beautiful but could do with a complete respray to get it back to perfection.

So pleased with my purchase!
