Hi everybody
Let me introduce myself, I'm JF coming from France and living in Birmingham since 3 years ...
Fascinated by Jaguar since this day where a friend of my Dad arrived in the early 70's with a Amazing Regency red Jaguar ....
It was in a little village of Normandy , and I fall in love immediately ...
Many and many years later, living in UK, I think the time is comes to make a little boy's dream became a reality...
So I'm looking for my next companion , I like the intemporal amazing lines of the X308, and I'm waiting the " one who is for me"
Happy to join today this fantastic club even if I'm not yet a Jaguar Owner ...

Google "Trovit Cars" on the internet, JF.
The site pulls together many of the usual advertisements into Trovit. You can set up your own particular search parameters and Trovit will send you two or three update emails each day. Once you have found your dream car, you can then unsubscribe as you wish. Trovit is a very good place to look for a car...in fact it is where I found my X350R!

Re: Frenchie among the Brummies....
Many Thanks Andy
Basically I understood that the biggest issue of X308 is :
- Rust
- Timing Chain tensioner & water pump for the models before 2000
- Sagging roof
- Always looking for a full serviced & stamped book
Did I'm ready to Hunting the perfect Big cat ???

Re: Frenchie among the Brummies....
Timing chain tensioners should be done irrespective of date of engine manufacture
My '01MY Sport was done by a previous owner (cost me £40 to check)
My '01MY Executive with a later engine number was not done, I assumed it would've with a later engine number
(cost me £440 three months ago to have changed)
'01MY or later -- you should have steel cylinder liners -- usually shown by an "F" (ferrous) in the engine number
One of either of my two are available -- and check out the JEC's own classifieds site:

Bon chance!

I don't know why that link does not work.
I tried pasting it again -- but still doesn't.
Anyway, you have the .doc files for both
