Hi

I've been a JEC member for a little over a year now so thought it time to say hello.

I have a Jaguar XJ8 Executive 3.2 MY 2000

It has quite a few factory options as far as the Jaguar build list goes it has:

Full Sports Package
Exterior Electro chromic Mirrors
Celtic Alloys
Rain Sensitive Wipers
Heated Front Screen
CD Changer
Cruise Control
Power Fold Mirrors
Half wood Steering Wheel

Is it unusual to have a Full sports package added as an option to an Executive? I would have thought that if someone wanted a sport they would have just got a sport?

Trim wise it's Carnival with Oatmeal trim with Charcoal facia.

I've wanted one for a number of years since driving a friends fathers (1998 3.2 Sport). Since my Discovery was coming off the road for some maintenance I took the opportunity and got mine :D

Hi Darren,

Welcome to the Bulletin Board. As you've found out, x308s are great cars and really good value right now!

I could see why someone might want the Exec exterior look but want the Sports Spec suspension etc. Has it got Sports Seats and / or de-chromed exterior?

When you get a chance it would be great if you could update your membership record with the car details. You can do this my going to "MemberZone" on the Home Page and selecting "My Account". Scroll to the bottom of that page and select "Update my car details".

Cheers

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I will enter the cars details in the register.

Paul, yes its full Sports spec. Interior and Exterior (De-chrome and colour keyed Plynth and Grill surround) . Even whoever filled in the owners manual at the dealers called it a Sport. Factory Build sheet and V5 state it is an Executive.

I have some pictures but they're not very good so I'll get some better ones.

Which part of Yorks ? If you are near enough to our Lincs North meeting place near Brigg you will be very welcome to join us at club meetings or outings.
We meet on 3rd Monday of the month. In Feb we have our editor Nigel Thorley giving a talk about Burgh Island and the unique art deco hotel there. See http://www.jec-lincsnorth.com for more.
