Hi everyone,
My search for a 308 continues,(now wiser re water pump and tensioner issues) I have looked at a couple of low milage 4.0,2000yr but have come across a 2001 3.2 23000mls, I would be very greatfull for any advice re the two engines, reliability ,performance ,etc
Many thanks
Howard
Engine Size
Re: Engine Size
Howard,
The 4.0 is more powerful, quicker and more economical! Reliability, they'll be exactly the same.
The major aspect is whether model and spec is important for you. In theory you can find a 3.2 Sovereign but there's 2,000 made vs 36,000 4.0 Sovereigns. And if it's a LWB you want (you do IMHO!) there's 385 3.2 Sovereign LWB vs 11,000 4.0 Sovereign LWB. Naturally, there's no Daimler or Supercharged 3.2 versions.
If it's just the condition of car and engine you care about, then don't worry about the engine size. If it's performance or model you want, then it's the 4.0 you'll be getting.
Good luck with the search
Paul
