hi everyone, my names paul, and ive just bought a "99 xj8 4.0lwb.
(reg. no. T676SSX)
i bought this off a friend of mine as the car used to belong to his dad,
however, he then sold it on when his dad passed away to a friend, i was enquiring about getting another jag (i already have a white xj40 off the road) my pal bought it back, it was in a bit of a sorry state, as it had been damaged on the back of a transporter, (nofront lights, bashed bumper and wings, rear o/s light smashed, rear o/s wing bashed in.) as this was the case i got the car for £900! BARGAIN!!!
Now the thing about this car is it has a bit of history apparently, as it was an ex lord provost of Edinburgh's car, its black, cream interior, fully loaded sovereign model, passenger seat adjustable from the rear.
what im wondering is....can anyone help in confirming the previous history, as i didnt get a lot of paperwork with the car.
any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

car information
Paul, hi welcome to the forum, its a bit of a sketchy bit of information you are seeking, You do have the registration, T 676 SSX !
You could try the lord provost of Edinburgh's office and explain if the cars history is available to you ........if it is then it would give you the next owner then you have to work from there .....unless someone in this forum comes forward with any information re the car........its a long road but if you are succssesful its quite an interesting journey..........maybe the history is with the DVLA you could try there as the registration seems original.........good luck!!
