Headlight washer not retracting

Hi
I’m doing various jobs on my 1998 xk8 convertible and one of them is to sort out a non retracting headlight washer. I can’t find anything on utube to help so I’m asking my fellow members if any one has a step by step guide to sort it out. Much appreciated if anyone can help.

I had a similar experience recently while checking mine prior to an MoT. Mine were blocked and not spraying.
As it's only water pressure that pushes it out against its internal return spring, the most likely thing that's holding it is limescale from its own water supply if the jets are not used often. (A bit like a shower-head blocking up)
I would try operating it a few more times, bearing in mind it only works with the headlights On and then only once in every 6 (5?) wash/wipe ops. With everything good and wet, I'd try gently pushing it back, making sure to push only in a direct straight line, as the mountings for the nozzle unit and also the glass cover-plate, seem quite femur to me.
I've found it difficult to do much to the jets without having to remove the front bumper cover
