Trickle charger lead location

Hi

I’ve got a 2014 XKR and want to wire in a trickle charger onto the battery so I can lock the car and place the cover over it as it usually only does around 300-400 miles per year

I’ve wired it into the battery in the rear of the car but I’m concerned that when I close the boot, the wire crushes and it’s going to cause me a big problem

Is there any where else i can route the wires?

Hi Ant, you don't need to worry, the boot lip seal has plenty of "give" and the cable will be fine. I don't have mine wired permanently and have the battery conditioner outside, with the flying leads going into the boot, with the lid closed, car locked and cover installed.

I echo Jim's comments. My battery conditioner's wires have been routed past the boot seal for 9 years' ownership of my present XK and 4 years before that on my previous XK, all to no detriment of the wiring, the battery conditioner or the boot seals. Mike.
