HI,JUST A QUICK QUESTION,DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THESE ICARSOFT DIAGNOSTICS WILL CLEAR WARNING MESSAGES ON A 2000 XKR
I GET FED UP PAYING £50 A TIME AT GARAGES.
CAR RUNS GREAT AND I CAN CLEAR THEM VIA.THE DASH CLEAR BUTTON BUT THEY OBVIOUSLY RETURN ON RESTARTING.
I AM SURE THIS HAS BEEN ASKED BEFORE SO PLEASE HUMOUR ME

Yes, the unit will clear fault messages.

Note though that if a fault is still present and has not been corrected, the fault codes will appear again until rectification work has been done.

Hi Trev,
After you have installed your new battery,use a scan tool to scan for codes and then address them,then you know it's all good.
Hopefully you wont have any codes apart from P1000 which should turn to P1111 when the driving cycle is completed .
If you haven't got a scan tool you can use a bluetooth adaptor and a smart phone if you keep up with the program that is.
I use the ELM 327

Have sorted many problems on my car as well as other's all for very little money

I have the earlier iCarsoft 930i unit...I would have loved the later and more sophisticated LR11 but it wasn`t lauched at the time I bought the 930i.

I also have a ELM327 blue-tooth unit running on my Android phone. Both units are very useful but the 930i has deeper function levels. I had a run of PO420 errors at one time, (dicky N/S rear O2 sensor) which would often throw up the MIL light and put up a restricted performance message on the dash. As I understand it, this manifests if the central processor on the car recognizes more than three faulting occurrences. If I had my phone mounted in its dash holder, then a few simple key strokes would have the fault, MIL and error message cleared in seconds....until the fault kicked off again, usually about a month later. With a new O2 sensor fitted, that was the last time I had any issue. In this respect the 327/Android set up was more than adequate but was unable to deal with a gremlin that crept in after I renewed an air suspension compressor ring. That needed the 930i to get in deeper.

So three levels of diagnostic unit here. Top of the range LR11 at around £150, the 930i at around £95 and the bargain 327 chip at about £6 plus a phone download for a similar figure. We pays the money and makes the choices! Nothing wrong with any of those systems but the more you pay, the higher the level of interrogation becomes available. All of the units mentioned here are well worth having and indeed keeping in the car for "on road" issue clearance. Traveling is often the time these bogies come out to play. Being able to clear them on the spot (just like my occasional but at the time persistent PO420 issue) is very useful. If you run a modern Jag, then having this type of kit is almost mandatory if you wish to keep diagnosis costs out of your annual motoring budget. £50 a diagnosis on a regular basis doesn`t need to happen once you have even the most basic of units.

I have read this with interest as I purchased a 931, however I have found it limiting in that I am unable to use the engine diagnostics. When trying to make contact with the engine control module the unit displays ‘Fault in connection with vehicle ECU’
Is this to be expected as when the diagnostic port is accessed by by garage they can read the ECM data. Car is 2003 XKR

I recently purchased the iCarsoft LR V.2.0
Despite the claim that software supports the Service Interval update for my 2016 X351, I cannot get it to work.

Logfile sent to the supplier currently waiting for a response.

Also tried connecting to my 2000 XKR but failed to talk. Have to revert to my old scanner

I have found the i930 to be rather selective about the modules it will talk to. I cannot get anything from the engine ECU, although my old Autel MS310 will at least clear an engine ECU code, even though I cannot access it with the i930. When it works, it's really helpful!

I also have the V2 and it won’t reset the yearly service Command and one of the reasons I bought a V2, did not get much joy out of the American head office and this was over a year ago on the service command function not working I would have thought an easy patch to program. Good luck with your efforts to get a patch.

I wrote to iCarsoft back in Sep 2020 regarding the Service Reset Facility. To be fair they have not just ignored my contact but so far no solution. This is the latest communication.

Sorry for delay.
um so far I didn't get any updates yet , and checked again with the engineer today...
Unfortunately ,they said still haven't found a solution yet,no newer software for this function at the moment .We're so sorry .
As the special service functions for some car models are still not that completed .
Now they're keep working on this . if any updates they would let me know or will add to the newer software version .


But except for this Service reset function, you can still use this scanner to test other systems for the possible fault codes .
And when newer software released , you can get it by upgrading the scanner ,is that okay ?

i wonder if you can help me, i also have a po420 fault code and i was advised to change the o2 sensors,
after changing them i still have a fault, any ideas?

You haven't specified which model you have so any advice can only be of a generalised nature. The P0420 code refers to the RH catalyst efficiency being below standard. Consequently, the oxygen sensors and their wiring are the first suspects. Did you replace the sensors with genuine or aftermarket parts? Were they new or second hand? Many cheap sensors do not perform adequately so you need good quality replacements of the correct type. If the oxygen sensors can be ruled out of contention, it may be that the catalytic converter has reached the end of its life and may require replacement. Does the car display any other codes which could give further clues? Mike.
