Key battery Low

Jaguar XK 2008 convertible - Despite changing the battery in my ignition key(s) twice, I still receive the message that battery is low. I also place the key in the slot provided in the central glove box, but the message will not go away. Any ideas please? Chris

Hi Chris, the contacts for the battery within the fob can be quite fragile. Have you made sure that they are in good contact with the replacement battery - quite easy for them to not be pressing firmly enough.

Rather than a message about the key fob batteries, it's possible the message you are getting is about the car's main battery. It may require charging or be reaching the end of its life. Mike.

Problem solved by the wonderful J Cat of Norwich. I inserted new battery which I had bought on Ebay, but they were forgeries it seems. Fitting a new Duracell cured the problem.
