Convertible Header Seal

I’ve noticed that after 15 years use, my header seal (HJC7715AD) is started to deteriorate. At the moment it isn’t bad enough to replace - not at over £400 replacement seal it’s not - but at some stage I will have to get it replaced. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to reduce the deterioration?
