By modern standards 2006 - 2014 is a good run for a model that has only seen light facelifts since its introduction - but it will become a modern classic as so many still appreciate it...

A totally brilliant car but it was doomed as soon as the F-type appeared. Rumour has it that a future replacement will be more along the lines of the Bentley Continental i.e. a big car but with more rear seat room which, if we are totally honest, was pretty awful in the XK8!

I think a replacement with a bit more rear room would not be a bad thing. The back seats in my XJ-S were useable - a little cramped for long distances, but OK. The XK8 was tighter - 3 people was OK, but to take a fourth, I had to put the driver's seat too far forward to be comfortable for any distance. Now, with the XKR, the rear seats are almost unusable.
