X150 Glove Box

The push button on my 2006 X150 glove box has broken and I was looking for a fix. Looks to me like might just glue back together but. I note JLR would like to sell me a complete glove box unit for the best part of £400. Alternatively, it would appear the actual piece of plastic moulding is available circa £220, Seems to me to be crazy money for a part (which my research) that appears prone to premature failure. Has anybody found a good work around. Any ideas, suggestions warmly received.
Many thanks
Nick

Hi Nick,
This is not a problem I have come across before. I'd be interested in how many people have had the issue - as always it may be something we could look at in thinking about potential repair parts if there was sufficient demand.
I did see this video on YouTube
https://youtu.be/2HSKNUS-aPA?si=RbCaibpgmHmEdcdw - does this describe your problem in pictures and does the solution make sense?
If you want to send me some good photos of the problem I'd be happy to have a closer look -

Many thanks

Hi Nick, given the pricing on the parts website, I suspect this is a task for sourcing from a specialist Breakers, or some creative hot glue gun works!
Not sure how a push button can cost £309.01 including VAT!!!!!!!!!

Hi Jim - Tend to agree. New tube of glue me thinks.
Kind regards
