Hi all, I hope you can help....
I have 2007 XK-R. Awesome car that I just love. However in the last couple of weeks I have been having a problem starting the car when it is warm / hot. I don't use it much over the winter but do take it for a run once every couple of weeks. After about 20 miles I return home. Turn the car off but then have difficulty re-starting it after about 20 to 30 mins. It turns over but doesn't fire. After five or six attempts it finally fires and then seems to run ok..!
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Gary

Re: Hot start problem
Hi Gary,
It does sound particularly odd that the car runs completely normally after one of its hot non-start incidents. Having mused and dismissed several hot non-start scenarios, I'd suggest trying one of the phone apps like 'Torque' plus a wired or bluetooth unit attached to the car's diagnostic port to monitor your journeys and add some data/codes to your initial observations. Alternatively, book the car in for a diagnostics session. There could be a number of culprits and you need to narrow the field to avoid jumping to (expensive) conclusions. Mike.

Thanks Mike, I will ask my garage to check for any data / code faults. Cheers Gary
Re: Hot start problem
Hi all, An update for those who have a similar problem and may be reading this string ..... the fault seems to have sorted itself out. The car now starts first time no matter what the engine temperature. Very odd. Gary
