Touch screen repair

Postby johnmercer01753 » Sat Aug 24, 2024 8:44 am

Hi, in case it helps anyone. My 2011 XK touch screen failed a few months ago after periodically blanking out for some months before that. These screens are Alpine Electronics units and it’s difficult to find anyone to repair them but DTronix in Milton Keynes were able to repair mine. They charge a reasonable inspection fee in the first instance and will let you know if they can repair. Mine is going strong 6 months later. Regards

Brilliant. Thanks for that John. Most useful. I once didn't go through with an X150 purchase precisely because the infotainment system had failed.

Good find, thanks for posting. As these models age, the touchscreen is going to be an important feature to keep healthy.

John,

Thanks for posting, I was looking to follow up on this but unfortunately it seems the company has ceased trading.

Any clues on the individuals who carried out the work as they may be in process / have set up elsewhere.

Thanks

Mark

I currently have this exact problem and need a company/specialist/individual who can diagnose and fix this unit. That company Dtronic in Milton Keynes has indeed stopped trading. So if anybody has found anybody who can repair these touch screens please message me otherwise it’s a new one at £1400 😳

Have you checked out the article on this topic in the June 2024 edition of the magazine? Cheap Toshiba replacements have had some success in the USA. Relevant Toshiba part no is given there at the end.
