Production numbers of run out model

I’m interested in how many units Jaguar produced of the XK Dynamic R. Does anyone out there know?

It’s ten years this week since the run out model was announced. I know it was made in 2014, with production stopping in July that year (so effectively only half a year’s manufacture). The final one is of course at Gaydon (VIN ending B56794).

Any intel much appreciated.

Frustratingly, the VIN numbers for the XK range include both naturally aspirated and supercharged cars mixed together so the only way of separating the models would be to physically examine the production records and note down the numbers of each one. I am not aware that Jaguar has permitted anyone that type of access to the records for quite a few years (possibly more than a decade and before XKR Dynamic production began). I have seen a comment that 2014 production started with a VIN number around 52300. If so, that would give a total of 4494 cars for both the 2014MY and the 2015MY (i.e. Dynamic and Signature cars). A straightforward guess of the year split might suggest around 1500 of those would have been 2015MY cars. In turn, how many of that number would have been XKR Dynamics is difficult to say. Mike.

Thanks Mike - sounds like the answer might be hard to find but I found your reply interesting.

As an aside, I had understood that all of the Dynamic Rs were manufactured in 2014 but all referred to as MY15.

There was presumably another MY15 XK; the R-S

You are correct in that the Dynamics and Signatures were all 2015MY cars in Jaguar parlance but yes, they were all produced in 2014! I should also have said that there will have been a small number of XKR-Ss located within the same XK VIN runs. Production of all three XK variants finished in July 2014. Mike.
