Electonic parking brake failure

EPB not working on a 2008 X150 convertible.

When you raise switch nothing happens
Orange brake warning light illuminated on dash
Red warning triangle illuminated stating fault with EPB
On moving off addition brake warning light illuminates and flashes

Been diagnosed as, Hall effect sensor internal failure, wiring checked as OK according to garage, suspect park brake motor faulty.

The suggestion is to change the complete unit part number C2C40572 but there are non available and no ETA on when they might be.

Problem is my MOT is coming soon.

Has anyone experienced this issue and rectified it without needing a complete new unit?

I am based in Doncaster and used Chris at the Jag specialist. They are not prepared to attempt repair or fit second hand unit which I understand fully understand but this leaves me in a bit of a pickle with the MOT coming up.

A quick check appears to show a different part number from the one you quote. If you'd like to send me a pm with your VIN, I may be able to be more definitive. In turn, that holds out some hope that the correct part may be available under a different part number. Mike.

That was the part number quoted by the Jag specialist in Doncaster unless the guy wrote it down incorrectly on the invoice.

VIN is SAJAC44P195B28794

Hi Chris,
The number relevant to your car's VIN is shown on Jaguar's EPC system as C2Z3205 at a cost of £261 + VAT. I can't check whether it's in stock but it would be worth asking your Jaguar dealer if it's available. Mike.
