AIRBAG Faultcode B0002 - and no subcode(but states unknown"

Postby kenb_g_60319 » Thu Jun 24, 2021 5:56 pm

Hello out here,

Jaguar Xk 4.2 N/A X150 1. reg. April 2007 - after someone drove straight out in front of us horn button was hit quite hard - no seat belt so no damage/deployment of belt tensioner - and the airbag lamp is on.

Have tried following:
1. scan with both WOW and Delphi(jag tester as well but that was worse..)
2. deleted faults
3 - the airbag lamp goes and comes straight back - so it can search it

- not a scratch on the horn button
- horn button not stuck nor broken(horn still works perfectly

Has anyone been able to delete this fault code - and/or have any idea what might cause it to go on again asap (have tried the +/- cable touch for 30 sec to reset all and everything else WAS reset just not this :-p

Best regards

This may help.

It may be that you hit the horn too hard and dislodged or created a short in the wiring behind. May be clockspring related.

Further to Jimbo's help, this is the full list issued by Jaguar of the B0002 DTCs with the probable cause listed for each sub code

With those sort of faults and the situation that seems to have started the fault, it would seem that an investigation of the clockspring area as suggested by Jimbo would be a good starting point.

An Afterthought

Don't forget to disconnect the battery for at least 1 minute before undertaking any work on the airbag system.
