2006 XK LOSS OF GPS

Postby bobsherwin » Fri May 12, 2017 12:25 pm

On several occasions, the last being going to and from the Windsor Fest I lost GPS and despite trying to "calibrate" the nav system was all over the place. Can anyone advise how I can retrieve nav by GPS again?

The first question is can you see the GPS symbol in the top left corner of the screen? (It's a small icon of a planet with a ring around it) If you are under trees or near very tall buildings in built up areas this may disappear. If you can't get the symbol to appear at all the GPS receiver may have failed or the antenna or its connection may be faulty. It may also be worth a battery disconnect for a few minutes to re-boot the receiver processor in case it has got 'hung up'

Thanks for replying. the symbol is a rectangle with "GPS" inside which has a slash through it denoting no GPS signal. Where is the antenna and receiver in an XK (new model) the disc drive is in the boot.

The antenna is found by removing the boot spoiler. Apart from the display panel, the rest of the kit is built into the disc unit in the boot. Mike.
