Leaving Stratstone Jaguar in bright sunshine on Sunday morning, the Mayor of Chorley waved us off. A couple of elderly ladies lead the way (an SS100 & an XK120). There were Jaguars of every type covering 70 years, through E-types, XJ's, S- and X-types, and XK8's/R's right up to the "new shape" XK-R.
There was something very special about seeing so many well-loved Jaguars in the sunshine, polished & gleaming next to their proud owners.
The hairs on the back of my neck were standing up as we pulled out of Stratstone in convoy behind two gorgeous light blue E-types, an XKR convertable and Daimler Limo behind us.
Highlights included: bowling along the Cheshire country lanes in the sunshine, posing for photos in front of Astley Hall (usually shut to cars, but the Mayor arranged for us to have access), lunch at Shaw Hill Golf Club and the superb finishing venue, the Italian gardens at Stanley Park (Blackpool).
It was a fantastic day, supremely well organised and perfect weather.
All in all, a great experience for our first ever JEC meeting and we met some lovely people. Many thanks to the organisers & we look forward to our next outing - JHB's "hot pot" run on 21st June!
