I believe the wiring loom for the bass speaker is in place

but if I remember correctly it's driven by the Premium Sound Amplifier , also if I remember correctly the speaker grill is a dummy without any perforations but you can readily swap it over for one that has , try Eurojag or Jagslag for a good secondhand example ,
Hope this helps ,
Nik

The plan is to install a amp in the boot and a sub woofer on the parcel shelf. If anybody has done this before I would appreciate any info.
Thanks

Think you will find that the radio / cassette head needs removing and a switch at the rear of it switching to suit premium sound , I'd highly recommend you speak to Kevin at DesignXKR for further advice , he's done the job before and is a mine of helpful information , tell him Nik recommended you , he is a member I believe ,
Hope this helps ,
Nik

I spoke to Kevin at Design XR and he reckons that to install a sub woofer you need to change the loom. I have bought an amplifier and sub which I intend to fit over the holiday. The amp should fit above the cd player.
I will keep you informed.

I have just finished installing an IN Phase 601 amp and a Pioneer 8" shallow woofer. The amp fits perfectly on top of the existing cd player using velcro to secure as this also provides an air gap. I used mdf to mount the woofer and then secured the mdf to the parcel shelf using the existing holes.
I cut a couple of slits in the boot liner above the cd player to allow adjustments to be made and room for the input leads. What a difference it makes
