Information screen warning clearance

Good afternoon.

My 2008 XKR inadvertently had the inclination/tilt sensor activated. I have cancelled the alarm but the centre console information screen shows the message : Alarm triggered by Inclination sensor. No warning triangle is illuminated. Is there a way of clearing this message without a visit to the local dealership?

Hi Wayne,

If you take the car for a drive of around 10 miles, the reset should happen by itself.

Tried the ten mile plus run and, sadly, no joy with clearing the message. Looks like a dealership visit when next the car requires a service.....June next year!

Hi again Wayne, that's strange as that trick usually works. The alternate solution, if you have either breakdown cover or a local friendly independent garage, both will happily plug in a reader and clear the codes. I realise you are not supposed to call the breakdown service on a spurious call-out, but if they have to be attending because you are concerned about a fault warning, then they will plug in the code reader as a first step.
