I am a recent owner of an XKR 2008 model in New Zealand and new member to the JEC.
I have hankered for such a vehicle for many many years and it has been pampered (like most Jag owners seem to do) and is in pristine condition.
What a superb piece of engineering it is which has exceeded my expectations on all fronts APART FROM connectivity of iPhone / iPad music to the stereo system. Yes phone has Bluetooth connectivity but no apparent means of getting the music in there.
Does anyone know of a software update and/or a way of getting device music into the sound system directly (rather than through an FM transmission device which is problematic and low quality)?
Appreciate your input,
Regards Graham McD

Later cars do have ipod and USB connecting sockets so Jaguar did wake up eventually! Also, a number of electronically competent members have modified their cars to add connectivity to different models. I hope one of them will read your plea and share their wisdom. However, not being one of them, I recall that you certainly have to know what you are doing to achieve a useful result rather than to cause damage. Mike.

Resurecting an old thread here .. sorry.
I've just got a 2006 XK and wondered if there was an update on this problem. For example has anyone tried the sort of devices that have become available recently such as ...https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=car+music+ ... -doa-p_2_9
Thanks

Not having an X150 model, I haven't had personal experience of this device, but I have installed other items produced by the Jag Wrangler and can say the quality their products is really good and their installation instructions and after purchase advice and help is outstanding.

Thanks, that is interesting. I wonder if any other forum members have done this. Its a shame the 'Aux' needs to be dealer activated. I'm guessing that would be a couple of hundred quid to get the screwdrivers out of bed!Not having an X150 model, I haven't had personal experience of this device, but I have installed other items produced by the Jag Wrangler and can say the quality their products is really good and their installation instructions and after purchase advice and help is outstanding.

Having done a bit of research it turns out the unit from the USA will cost about £100 with a two week delivery time. A competent agent/dealer will take about 30 minutes to enable the 'Aux'. Then you still have to dismantle some of the trim and the glovebox to fit it. So...
I decided to take the easy option first and for £11.99 bought this ...https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07 ... UTF8&psc=1
I set it up in the cigarette lighter just under the screen display. Tuned it to 87.7 FM output and saved a slot on the FM radio for it. Then connected via Blu tooth to my phone easily. A static test works fine. I can play podcasts, Digital radio via BBC sounds, any music etc. The quality is as good as the other radio channels through the cars speakers.
Feedback on Amazon suggests you may get 'hissing' and possible interference when out and about. Will see. Another advantage is you can move it from car to car if you are lucky enough to have several older vehicles with FM reception. It also has a built in USB charger and you can use it for phone pairing if again you have an older car that doesnt do that itself. You need to remember to remove it when you leave the car as the cig lighter seems to be independent of the ignition ( on mine anyway). So there is a chance of a slight but constant battery drain as it has a little light.
I will post an update after a trial period.

Re: XKR 2008 Sound Sytem - Connecting Bluetooth / USB
After the last 10 days or so in France I can report this works adequately.
I downloaded a number of radio programs via BBC sounds to my iphone first so there was no further interference receiving them to the phone and playing them at the same time. Then these can be played direct.
There is interference sometimes on the 87.7 channel (or is it 88.7? need to recheck!). Anyway I think it might be a Hospital Radio channel in France! It can be changed on the the device anyway so there may be a better frequency with less chance of interference.
